I need help with developing Choreographer! I'm currently in the research phase of development and need as much support as possible! There's a few key ways to support development:
Take my survey
I'm currently in the research phase of development. I have some really great ideas for this project already, but those ideas are particular to how I would use visual scripting. I want to hear from the larger Godot community about how they would/wouldn't use visual scripting. And especially how I can provide a better experience for developers of all ranges of experience. Additonally, the survey does not collect emails or any personal information so, for me, the data will be completely anonymous. I can't say what Google collected because I don't know, but I wanted to address any data privacy concerns here.
The Project On GitHub
The project currently exists on GitHub, I have a detailed README that I'll be updating after this research phase to reflect any shift in direction. Additionally, I plan to make this an open source project and accepting PRs for open issues. However, right now I am in super pre-alpha development and need to refactor the GitHub page a bit. This project originally was a C# addon for Godot 4 Beta 2, but changed to GDNative because it allows lower level operability with the engine and better performance. Additionally, if by some miracle, this project is deemed worthy of integration into the main engine, then the GDNative code should be easy to integrate. However at the least it will live as an addon for any users who would like a visual scripting option.
Donate on my KoFi
I also need financial support. I detailed my current financial situation on a post on my kofi. The TL;DR of it is that I was wrongfully fired from my last job and due to a combination of medical concerns and background, I've been unable to get a job otherwise. So having financial support can help me continue development without stress. But donation is not required. This addon will be freely available under a permissive license. (Currently planning MIT, following suit with Godot Engine).
Finally,
If you have any comments, questions, or concerns that were not covered in the survey, feel free to comment them here! I would prefer to have comments on my twitter thread or on my reddit thread, to make accessing comments all in one place easier. But I'll try to check in periodically as well.
