Where is the best place for free assets + any good 2d designer softwares?

Where is the best place for free assets + any good 2d designer softwares?

Hi all,

All I have is Photoshop but I feel that it is not the right tool to design fast 2d assets as you have to design every single part of a soldier or tank(example).
Would you know a quick an easy software that has many parts included(canons, legs, arms and more) where I could just drag and drop them together so they interconnect?

I would be suprised if such tool was not in the market already.

Assets are available at free sites like OpenGameArt.org.
Free programs for 2D are classics such as GIMP and Krita.

Grease Pencil in blender for some fast sketchy vector art. Or Pixelorama for Pixel art(the app was made with godot btw and is open source).
