Hey folks,
We are in the very initial development stage. If you're interested in testing the product and giving us some feedback, that would be much much appreciated!!
Problems that we are trying to solve:
- Game developers invest considerable time and effort in selecting the perfect music for their games.
- Most small game developers don’t have a budget for licensed music.
- Repeating the same music in a game can create a monotonous experience for players.
Our solution:
Creating an easy solution for game developers to add music to their games by:
- Utilizing a vast selection of music available on streaming services like Spotify to which a lot of game players already have access by integrating them with games.
- Enhancing the gaming experience by algorithmically selecting fresh music based on the game's context.
One of the objectives of music in gaming is to evoke emotions in players. In order to incorporate music into a game, our API can be used, where specific tags such as 'happy', 'sad', 'motivational' etc. are called upon to play the music that corresponds with the context of the game. Each time a tag is called, a new and fresh song is played from the thousands of songs available on Spotify that match that particular emotion, be it happy, sad, motivational, or any other emotion. This ensures that the player hears a different song every time they play the game, which adds to the immersive experience and helps to prevent the music from becoming repetitive or predictable. Currently, this provides an additional choice of music for users. Our ultimate goal is to integrate with other streaming services such as Apple Music and Youtube Music, and also offer royalty-free music integration so that anyone can use this service, not just players who have premium subscriptions.
Currently, this service is only available to Spotify premium users. Here is a link to the GitHub repo of our integration with one of the Godot games. If you would like to try it, instructions are in the readme file.
