No. This was impossible even before the blockage. Sanctions were imposed on Russian banks. UnionPay worked (not fully) in Russia, but Patreon and others (itch.io, Ko-fi etc.) do not work with this system.

Shameless plug, but I did my first earlier this year (and also just released a video about it). I recommend, as it forces you to manage scope creep better which is overall a good thing.

And I just realised what I should have spent my video talking about 🙁

Bimbam True. You have a point about the whole scope creep thing. Currently, I've made some assets for the game I'm creating and I probably will reuse them in the future for a game jam or something. Yeah, I probably should just jump into it and stop making excuses.

In another forum, someone said they had the ultimate game idea and all programmers shall flock together and submit offers for programming it. They expected it to be just a few dollars, because programming isn't really a complicated job. Designing is.
There were a few energetic reactions to the request :-) I asked them if they could post a sketch of what it is about, the answer was I should sign an NDA before any such information be handed out, but they'd rather not. I replied, hombre, ideas are a dime a dozen, realization power is what's lacking. So may be you want treat even a wannabe programmer with more respect because they are doing a big part of the work.
Never heard of them again. Probably was just another pong anyway ...

I think of simulation games (like the The Sims) as a house of bricks. The bricks are the knowledge of individual specialists (urban planning, transport systems, the psychology of people living there), and the skills of programmers are the mortar (cement) that holds everything together. A house made of bricks alone will be unstable; making everything out of mortar will not work. The main thing here is balance. In my opinion.

It was an uninitialized value at the lowest level of a pretty deep recursion. I mean, it could just be a little more politically correct, no ? Otoh, it has an educational effect, you don't want to be called a fool by your own PC, right ?

What perhaps stings even more is deep down you know it's not your PC but some other developer that wrote that error message in the first place. But also, you can feel a little better knowing that there must have been enough developers causing these error overflows that someone needed to write the error message in the first place. So at least you know you aren't alone.

Funny thing, I had commented out the initialization, because I plan to spare me storing the value and calculate it instead in future. It is 4 bytes, counts when there are 100 thousands of them ...
