It's a great plugin, I'm keeping an eye on it. 👍️ But it doesn't generate the vegetation itself — it just arranges it.
But for a flora/vegetation plugin to become necessary we would first have to solve a more foundational/formative issue first: a honest to god good/production ready terrain system.
A terrain generator is desirable, but not necessary. One can take a surface made manually.
There is Heightmap terrain, what's wrong with it?
That's all well and good but most heightfield implementations don't support basic things such as cutouts for caves for an example
What to implement automatic generation of caves need to take into account erosion… Well not everyone has supercomputers yet.
