So I've been playing more of Shadow Warrior on my Steam Deck. I really like the gameplay and old school look of the graphics. I'm pretty sure I can make something similar, at least in terms of the models and textures. Here are some shots I took tonight to give you an idea.

The game I want to make will be a first person shooter role playing game with parkour. I don't think I have the resources for a full open world, but I think a hub system similar to the new Deus Ex would work. So there will be self contained levels (let's say like 4 or 5 blocks of a city district) and then you can take a subway and warp to a different part of the city, or load into a building for a mission, etc.
The game can't be too long, since I want to work on it myself, but I think with clever reuse of modular assets I can make a decent size world. Might try over the next few weeks to do a small scene as a mockup and see how it looks. But this seems like the most promising thing right now.
It will be cyberpunk style, but not Cyberpunk 2077. I want to go with a Mirror's Edge type of look to it. Modern day Eastern European architecture, mostly day light, bright colors, etc. I will set a timeline for 2 years of development. I know that sounds crazy, but I think I can do it.
